A new blog with a new direction: Photography
It’s hard to start over sometimes as is the case here but I’ve been looking for a place where I can create a photography journal of sorts and this is it. See, for 2 years I was the author of Building Camelot - a blog about being a father - but after we had kid #2 it slowly became more and more of a hassle to maintain plus my desire just wasn’t there anymore.
What prompted the change in direction was a personal project that I did where I was challenged to list 50 things that I truly love to do. It took me a few days but when I was finished it was apparent that my passion lies in visual arts - primarily photography.
Over the past 3 months I’ve been immersing myself in the photography world and it quickly became apparent that I needed a way to keep up with all the information that I came across. I wanted something cheap, easy and quick…I basically wanted to create a digital notebook to store and share things that I find interesting and inspirational. Plus I missed the simple act of writing and sharing my vision and creativity that way.
I settled on Tumblr mainly for its ease of use and flexibility. I can post from my iPhone, through the web and even via email. You should also check out Why Photographers love Tumblr. I’m sure you can do all that with Wordpress but Tumblr has a great community of photographers plus I can keep entries here pretty short if I need to.
So, in the spirit of keeping things short, I plan on keeping things very simple around here…no blinking banners…no ads…nothing crazy - just good information and resources for photographers and myself. Comments will be coming soon as soon as I can figure out how/where to add the code.
