iPhone Photography: Light Through The Tent

iPhone image of light through tent

“Light” was my first subject/assignment in my Photo I class in college and ever since then I’ve kept a keen eye on how light can do amazing things to the most simple of subjects. Without some form of light a photograph can’t exist and if you notice it enough, light itself can become its own subject as it is here.

I caught this image on my iPhone while I was playing with my daughters up in our playroom. This is an old tent of mine that we set up every now and then so the girls have a fun place to play and the light from a nearby window was streaming through the blinds and onto the blue fabric.  I love the shapes the light created as it fell on the curved portion of the tent and how the gray mesh on the door was illuminated by the blue light.

I did edit this photo a little in Picnik by adding my favorite effect - the Lomo effect. I also added a little sharpening, a little contrast adjustment, the framing and finally the drop shadow effect.
