Why start another photography blog?

I asked myself this very question over and over again over the course of a few weeks before I began Moo & Loo. Ultimately I decided to start this blog because I needed a place to share not only my photography, but also the things that inspire me as a photographer and a visual artist. Tumblr is a great format because it’s free and I can easily create simple posts to store and share all the things I come across on a daily basis.
This blog will be different from a lot of other photography blogs out there because I plan on focusing on and sharing things that I find inspiring like;
- work from other photographers
- interesting and thought provoking videos
- music that encourages the soul and inspires action
- quotes that will help put things into perspective
- anything else that shapes my vision
You won’t read a bunch of “how-to’s”, camera reviews (I don’t even know how to use my new D90 yet) or Lightroom blabber. There are too many blogs that cover that stuff already and they do a better job than I would anyway.
The bottom line is this; I want this site to be a valuable resource to myself and to photographers looking for inspiration without an overly heavy technical tone. Plus, if this site is a resource for me then it probably will add value to someone else and sharing information and inspiration is one of the cornerstones of the photographic community.
