Inspiration: The Paintings of Leonid Afremov
To me, painting and photography go hand-in-hand. Not to say that a painter can be a great photographer or vise versa but the fundamentals are very similar (color, light, composition, depth, etc) which makes it easy to draw inspiration from each other.
Leonid Afremov’s paintings are just that - an inspiration to my photography. I love the way he uses a pallet knife and broad brush strokes to simplify his subject matter while creating warmth and depth in almost all of his paintings.His use of light along with warm and cool color combinations is amazing.
