Use FriendFeed for photography news
I’ve been involved with *social” media for over 2 years now (not long compared to others) and now that I’m getting back into photography, I’ve found that using FriendFeed can be very useful in finding almost real-time photo news from around the web.All you have to do is search for “photography” and the results come pouring in.
If you’re not sure what FriendFeed is you’re probably not alone. It’s basically a social media aggregator that imports activity from users social media accounts (Twitter, Facebook, RSS, Flickr, Disqus, Digg, Youtube, etc) and displays it in real time. FriendFeed is a great way to follow discussions from multiple social sites all in one place.
Since it can get a little overwhelming at times (photography is usually a popular topic) you can always try different, more precise search queries like black and white photography or HDR photography depending on what you’re most interested in. And since there’s updates running constantly you’ll have to learn to decipher the junk from the good stuff but you’ll find tons of information very quickly.
